After covering SilkPeel Dermalinfusion in NewBeauty, I had to see what it was all about.
So I arrived at a local plastic surgeon’s office for my 8 a.m. appointment with his aesthetician. (I usually don’t get out of bed that early for anyone.) She explained how the SilkPeel is the next generation of microdermabrasion (it still uses the suction and manual exfoliation) but it differs because it uses a diamond-encrusted wand instead of crystals, and the device infuses the skin with a serum as it exfoliates. Because I was broken out, a salicylic acid serum was selected for me. (There are also serums geared toward dry skin and pigment.)
Over about a half-hour, the aesthetician went over my face a little at a time, and while it didn’t hurt, I did feel a little pulling thanks to the suction. But after the treatment, I was a little rosy and my skin felt super-smooth-so much so that I have another appointment scheduled next week!
